Why Everyone Needs to Watch Off Campus

Everyone needs to watch Off Campus. Seriously. It is not another show that you watch, enjoy for a few days, and then forget about. There is something about this series that makes you want to stay in the world of Briar University a little longer. It has everything I want from a show: genuine friendships, characters you become attached to, beautiful romances, humor, emotional moments, and a soundtrack that makes every scene feel even more memorable.

What makes Off Campus different from so many other shows is that the friendships actually matter. The Briar hockey boys , Garrett Graham, John Logan, Dean Di Laurentis, and John Tucker, aren’t simply characters who happen to play on the same team. Their friendship is one of the most entertaining parts of the series. They tease each other, show up for each other, and somehow manage to turn even the smallest moment into something funny. You want to be part of their group because their friendship feels effortless.

And then there is Hannah Wells and Garrett Graham, who are at the center of the first season. Hannah is a music major who wants nothing to do with hockey, while Garrett is Briar’s star hockey player. Their relationship begins with a deal that is supposed to benefit both of them, but, of course, things become much more complicated when real feelings get involved.

I absolutely love Hannah because she feels so different from Garrett. She has her own goals and passions, and music is such an important part of who she is. Her connection to music also gives the series something that makes it stand out visually and emotionally. The songs don’t feel randomly placed in the background. They become part of the story, and there are moments where the music makes a scene hit so much harder.

Then there is Garrett. At first, he seems to have everything figured out. He is confident, popular, talented, and knows exactly how people see him. But watching him become more vulnerable and seeing the way Hannah changes his perspective is one of my favorite parts of his character. Their relationship isn’t just about Garrett falling for Hannah. It is about both of them growing and becoming better versions of themselves.

I also love that the show doesn’t make romance dependent on toxicity. There is conflict, of course, but the relationships have tenderness behind them. You actually want to see these couples succeed. The romance feels exciting without needing to constantly tear the characters apart.

And the best part is that Hannah and Garrett are only the beginning.

There is John Logan, who has so much more going on underneath his confident exterior. He is funny and charming, but there is clearly a more complicated side to him that makes you want to know what happens next. His story is set up to continue with Grace Ivers, who brings an entirely different energy into the Briar world.

Then there is Dean Di Laurentis. Dean is impossible to ignore. He is confident, chaotic, and has the kind of personality that makes every scene more entertaining. But what makes me excited about his story is knowing that there is so much more to him than the version we see at first. His relationship with Allie Hayes is set to become the focus of the second season, adapting the story from The Score.

And I cannot forget Tucker. He brings such a different energy to the group. While Garrett, Logan, and Dean can be completely chaotic, Tucker feels more grounded, which makes his place within the friendship even more important. I love seeing how each of the guys has a completely different personality while still fitting together as a group.

Allie Hayes is another character I am excited to see more of. She has her own personality and ambitions, and I love that the women in this series are not simply there to be love interests. They have their own lives, friendships, goals, and personalities outside of the guys they end up with.

That is what makes me so excited for the future of Off Campus. The show has created a whole world rather than giving us one couple and ending the story there. The characters are connected, so even when one romance is taking center stage, you still care about what is happening with everyone else.

And somehow, I have already watched this series five times.

Five.

You would think that after the fifth time I would be ready to move on, but somehow I still find myself going back to certain episodes and scenes. There is something comforting about rewatching a show when you already know the characters. You notice little moments you missed before, you remember certain lines before they happen, and suddenly a song from the soundtrack brings you straight back to a specific scene.

What makes it even funnier is that Off Campus has managed to take over my family too. My mom and my aunt have both gotten hooked. And I think that proves how easy it is to become invested in this show. It isn’t something that only one specific type of viewer can enjoy. Give it a chance, and suddenly you are discussing the characters, picking your favorite couple, and waiting for the next episode.

And clearly, I am not the only one who feels this way. Off Campus has taken over social media, with people making edits, sharing favorite scenes, talking about the couples, and obsessing over the characters. It has become one of those shows that feels bigger than the episodes themselves because everyone is talking about it together.

Maybe that is what I love most about Off Campus. It makes you want to be part of the world.

You want the friendship. You want the romance. You want to be sitting around with the Briar boys while they argue about something ridiculous. You want to experience the butterflies of a new relationship while listening to the perfect song. You want to know what happens to every character, even when their story isn't the one currently on screen.

I have watched Off Campus five times, convinced my family to watch it, fallen in love with the characters, and added songs from the series to my own playlists.

So yes, I think everyone needs to watch Off Campus.

Just be warned: once you enter Briar University, you may not want to leave.
